Pride

That amazing feeling of achieving your goals,
when your at you highest peak--
so to speak.
As you climb past humble towards self- confidence,
where your elegance lies in its decadence--in other words.
How your elation becomes an equation minus the
inhibitions of your previous state
in which case--
you break the broken mirror of your self image--
which in tombs your minds flaws.
When you can hold yourself up and
say, "I am who I am." with no regrets.
You are proud.

Sub-Conscious

If love is needed to have hate,
and war needed to make peace
then i am balanced--Right?!?!?
I hate myself but i want love--
as this constant war inside me roars
to life in an instant.
Myself a distant vision--
of pain and remorse.
Lost friendships--gained foes
like some anti-comic story of
the hero finally switching sides with a
villian of a lesser cause--his cause.
Who's the hero now?
Smiling faces and jealous hearts--
tear my world apart--
and i want peace.
If i hate then where is the love?!?!?
And when chaos insues because of the people i choose then
where is the peace? Am i really balanced? Or Insane?

Time Never Stands Still

Just close your eyes,
When the world seems to beat at you from all
angles-- in a constant motion.

Just close your eyes,
As as you visualize your goal and see it coming closer--
over that one hill that must be crossed.

Just close your eyes,
To remember a face-- place--thing--
when your own life shown--in time--
with that being.

Just close your eyes,
When you read this poem and realize that you
closed your eyes.

Open Up

Speak with your eyes and see with your mouth.
No one can take the voice from your opinions or your
will to create.
Be five divided by five with yourself--
say the words no one wants to hear.
Visualize whats unnerving to society.
You have to live with you-- not the world.

This Video was really inspiring for me not only as an African American female but as someone who wants to use poetry to give a message and opening the door to a new culture.

Tell me what you think!

Inner Beauty

To discover the treasure you so easily hide--
with head rags and baggy clothes you must dig--
dig like a miner in a cave.

Deeper than anyone has gone--picking away at

the walls and prisons you put up to protect your self hate.

You can be pure as the rarest stones, and shine like the highest domes and

rise, tall as the Queens of every culture whether recognized or hidden.

The struggle will be great, the journey may be long, the reward is to find where your love belongs.

In yourself, for yourself, to be yourself.

Like the coal miner, you must dig-- dig until there is nothing left of the

shovel--dig until your wall called hate is torn down because in the end--
if you crack the hardest, ugliest, dirtiest piece of coal in half--
You may find a diamond inside.
Love yourself.

Vengence

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind--yet
our emotions in a moment is blind to the concept of every action having
a reaction.

Comprehension is unheard of and understanding is miles from the mark

--when your world is blown and your mind is shown the one holding the detonator.

Fighting fire with fire becomes the only answer to create the pain

you felt inside the suspected killer of your innocence.

The torturer of your good memories--the kidnapper of your friends or family members

life forever--whether they are alive or dead, its there.

What are a few burn marks to a life lost--beaten--taken--scarred-- or hurt?

You decide if its worth it.
